Searching for the door?
-Sukanya Singh
The early days were raw and beautiful as well, even if the technology was missing. The early days were very simple. People had no any complexities in comparison to today’s members of the society. The world was green. Bird chirping was louder than human voice, fresh river water could be found, fresh air could be inhaled, people were real without fake masks, they maintained some form of decency, disciplined life, respected and valued mother earth, helped each other, appreciated one another and most importantly they carried the legacy of reviving the humanity in every prospect
Coming to the 21st century, human voice is reducing the nature’s voice. The rivers are big huge drains now days, polluted air, polluted soil, one’s real face and soul could not be identified as they are hidden behind the fake masks, absence of decency, not at all disciplined, hurry, rush, helping each other is very far, time for one self is difficult, appreciations are absent, jealousness mushrooming and humanity almost vanished.
Today’s story reflects about how opportunities for one were provided by the people of the society, how opportunities today for one are snatched and suppressed for one’s own benefit and what should one do to create their own opportunities. In early days, people were very loving and caring in nature. If they saw someone performing good, doing great to the society, they appreciated much. They were popularised from mouth to mouth with great pride. Today’s scenario is very different. Now days if people see someone gaining heights or earning more or performing better day by day, most of the members of the society are unable to resist including the relatives and friends. They are unable to accept the fact that someone else can also be the one who could do great for oneself, for the society and for the Nation as a whole. A simple story would clear your mind. Let us have a look –
In early days, if people saw that one sings very well, they try hard to take these talented individuals forward such as by forcing them to sing in a local function, or any other like platforms. They did not hide the fact. It was a time for them to be proud that someone from their locality is rising and moving ahead for a better and brighter future. But what do we see today? Today’s people are not that open minded unfortunately. They are not kind enough to help such people or people who are damn active and enthusiastic. Some sections of the population would rather try to hide them by any means. They would try to discourage them and suppress them. They would try hard to spread rumours about them. No one would show you the better opportunities these days. They would always try to bend those towards them and if it is not their cup of tea they would rather find easy to dump the opportunity but not to make someone else have access to it.
“If opportunity does not knock, build a door.” – Milton Berle. Since no one will extend their helping hands, it is better for you to create the opportunities all by yourself. It is better if you go into the field and collect information by yourself. This is the technology driven age. Take help of the primary sources, secondary and tertiary sources. There are a number of options in front of you. Use them wisely and apply them properly. It is not even fair to blame others because with time life has changed. The ways of leading a proper life are different than before. People are getting busy. There is a huge rush from morning to late night. People might not get time. So it is always better to not to depend on someone else but on your own god gifted hands. Have faith on your abilities and capabilities, grab the self built opportunities such that no one can snatch it from you, trust your process and go on constructing the track towards your growth and development. You would surely achieve your goal!
